BAB I PENDAHULUAN A.     Latar Belakang Masa remaja adalah tahapan perkembangan yang pada umumnya dimulai sekitar usia 12- 21 tahun bagi wanita dan 13-22 tahun bagi pria ( Mappiare 1982). Sedangkan menurut Piaget dan Hurlock (1991), remaja adalah suatu usia dimana seorang anak tidak merasa berada dibawah tingkat orang yang lebih tua melainkan merasa sama atau paling tidak sejajar. Masa remaja merupakan masa transisi (masa peralihan) dari masa anak-anak menjadi dewasa. Masa inilah yang mengakibatkan remaja selalu mengalami gejolak dalam mencari identitasnya. Remaja seringkali dianggap sebagai kelompok yang aneh, karena dalam kehidupannya kelompok ini sering menganut kaidah-kaidah atau nilai-nilai yang berbeda atau bertentangan dengan kaidah-kaidah atau nilai-nilai yang dianut oleh orang dewasa terutama orang tuanya.
